Queer Landing Jazzzzzzzzzz editie komt naar Haarlem!

Queer Landing is een tentoonstelling over queer lichamen die fluïde belichaming en ruimte vormen en claimen. Terwijl zij bewegen in een dystopisch heden, creëren deze queer lichamen zeggenschap via hun eigen geografische, sociale en politieke narratieven. Of het nu gaat om fouten, rouw, vervreemding, het queer lichaam neemt de autonomie over dat wat al die tijd al van hen was. Dit resulteert in een oneindige genaamd Queer Landing.

Pia Vapeur
Pia Vapeur is uitgegroeid tot een artistiek breed geëngageerd artieste, die zingt, presenteert en host. Pia wordt wel eens gekscherend, Die Weimar Hitmachine, genoemd. Haar bijzondere look heeft ze zelf ontwikkeld na talloze bezoekjes aan kiloshops en Humana outlets. Deze kleurrijke verschijning, verzot op hoeden en semi -vintage couture brengt live liederen van filmsterren uit het interbellum ten gehore. Ook is niet bang voor uitstapjes naar klassieke aria’s en jazz. Haar zangervaring reikt van het Amsterdam Bach Consort tot aan een ontmoeting met Drag Queen Coco Coquette en haar travestiecabaret, die haar tot de sprankelende artiest hebben gemaakt die zij vandaag de dag is.

Juan Sebastián Blanco
Vanuit een klassieke benadering biedt Juan Sebastián jazzy harmonieën uit het Franse impressionisme van begin 20e eeuw tot aan een h0mage aan Duke Ellington en bekende melodieën.

Mavi Veloso
Mavi Veloso is een transdisciplinaire artiest die werkt in muziek, performance, theater, dans en beeldende kunsten. Voor deze editie van Queer Landing creëert Mavi experimentele jazz gemixt met pop vibes. Daarnaast houdt Mavi van diepe bass beats en gelikte tropische moves. Mavi is geboren in Brazilië en woonachtig in Nederland en houdt ervan om verwarring, bevraging en verheldering te scheppen terwijl we dansen.

Queer Landing Jazzzzzzzzzz edition is coming to town!

Queer Landing is an exhibition on queer bodies shaping and claiming fluid embodiment and space. While operating in a dystopian present, these queer bodies create agency via their own geographical, social and political narratives. Whether it be in resilience, rural transness, mistakes, grief, alienation, demonstration or exclamation – the queer body is claiming ownership over what was theirs all along. It results in a never ending descent on the slide called Queer Landing.

Pia Vapeur
Pia Vapeur grew up to be an artistically broadly engaged artist, who sings, presents and hosts. A playful nickname she gets called is Die Weimar Hitmachine. She developed her unique look thanks to many visits to kilo shops and Humana outlets. This colourful appearance who’s mad about hats and semi-vintage couture sings live songs by movie stars from the interbellum and she’s not afraid to touch on the classical aria’s and jazz. Her experience goes back from singing in the Amsterdam Bach Consort to meeting Drag Queen Coco Coquette and her travesty cabaret, which has made Pia Vapeur into the vibrant artist she is today.More info: Pia Vapeur

Juan Sebastián Blanco
With classical formation, Juan Sebastián will give us a ride from the Jazzy harmonies in French impressionism at the beginning of the 20th century, to an hommage to Duke Ellington and known melodies.

Mavi Veloso
Mavi Veloso is a transdisciplinary artist working in the fields of music, performance, theatre, dance and visual arts. For this edition of the queer landing Mavi is gonna create some experimental jazz mixed up with pop vibes. Moreover, Mavi likes deep bass beats and tropical nasty moves. Born in Brazil and based in the Netherlands, Mavi likes to do tranny-crafts confusing, questioning and enlightening our minds while we dance.
